4 Easy Steps

How Coverage Works

Click “Check My Coverage”

Click the ‘Check My Coverage’ button to get started. You’ll be directed to our trusted partner to verify your benefits.

Provide your insurance information

Complete a short form with your Anthem insurance details. Choose the Anthem plan that matches the logo on your ID card. It only takes a few minutes.

Enroll in Building Healthy Families

After you pass the coverage check, you’ll be guided to enroll in Anthem’s free Building Healthy Families program (Sydney Health app or Anthem.com). You’re registered when you see the Welcome screen. Do not click any buttons labeled “Lactation” — that path will not route you back to The Lactation Collection.

Book your virtual consult with us

Once enrollment is complete, you’ll get an email from Wildflower with how to schedule your virtual appointment with one of our IBCLCs.

Anthem BCBS Eligibility Notes

Here are a few important details about Anthem BCBS coverage for lactation services.

Anthem plans only

This benefit is for Anthem Blue Cross / Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield plans. Other Blue Cross Blue Shield cards that do not say Anthem are not eligible through this pathway.

Included members

Adult female members who are pregnant, within 12 months postpartum, or have a child under 12 months may qualify.

Confirmation required

Coverage is confirmed only after you complete the Wildflower coverage check and enroll in Building Healthy Families.

Visit allowance

Eligible members may receive up to 2 prenatal visits and up to 6 postpartum visits.

Virtual only

Coverage applies to virtual IBCLC consults scheduled through Wildflower’s network.

Plan variation

Not every Anthem cardholder qualifies. Fully insured Anthem plans that include this wellness benefit are eligible; some self-funded employer plans opt out. The coverage check confirms your specific plan.

In-network requirement

Coverage applies only when care is scheduled through Wildflower’s IBCLC network (The Lactation Collection).

Building Healthy Families

Enrollment in Anthem’s Building Healthy Families program is required before visits can be scheduled.

The easiest way to confirm your benefits is to complete the quick coverage check.

Our IBCLCs provide expert, compassionate care at every stage of your journey. With Anthem BCBS, your visits may be fully covered.
